Craig Inder

Craig Inder

I have been in legal practice for over 40 years but my experience of the law and particularly the importance of listening to clients and anticipating their needs started many years before that.

My late father, Norm Inder, looked after the needs of his South Auckland clients for over 50 years and he taught me that to genuinely care about the clients’ needs is paramount. I have always treated this as my core value and will continue to do so.

While I specialise in Trust and Estate Planning work my areas of practice include; Conveyancing, Wills, Estates, Business Sales and Purchases, Subdivisions and Enduring Powers of Attorney.

When I’m not working (which my family tells me is not often) I love to go fishing and boating and spending time with my wife Cheryl and two children Kate and James.

After graduating from Otago University I began my career in Law in Palmerston North and then New Plymouth in the 1980s.

I married Tina in 1990 and, looking for a change, I obtained a job in Pukekohe. For 16 years I ran my own sole practice, carrying out a wide range of legal work including Residential Conveyancing, Business Transactions, Wills, Estates with an emphasis on all aspects of Family Law.

In the meantime, our family of five children have grown up, nearly becoming independent, and we are enjoying our bush block just outside of Pukekohe township.

My own interests and hobbies have usually been connected with the children’s sporting and cultural activities.

I grew up in Pukekohe and now live on a rural lifestyle block in Waiau Pa, where I have been based for the past ten years. Being part of the local community is important to me, and I enjoy working with clients throughout Franklin and the wider Auckland region.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Auckland in 2022 and am passionate about helping people navigate legal matters in a practical and straightforward way. I understand that many clients come to a lawyer during important life moments, and I aim to make the process as clear and stress-free as possible.

I specialise in conveyancing, relationship property, wills, and trusts, and I am particularly passionate about helping first home buyers take their first step onto the property ladder. I enjoy guiding clients through the process, answering questions along the way, and ensuring they feel supported and well informed from start to finish.

Outside of work, I enjoy travelling and spending time with friends. I am also passionate about horses and spend much of my spare time horse riding and training for dressage competitions.

I have over 25 years of experience in the legal industry. I received my NZLS Certificate in 2003. In August 2017, I was admitted as a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Legal Executives. Therefore, I can provide independent legal advice for Enduring Powers of Attorney and witness statutory declarations.

I am interested in Property Law (especially first-time buyers using Kiwisaver and Housing NZ Grant), Elder Law and Estates.

Living locally, I have built up very strong long-established relationships with my clients, where many have become friends. I have always had a very active role within the community, spending many years in the past on various committees, Pukekohe Junior Rugby Club, Pukekohe Metro Cricket Club, Bledisloe Park Society and Auckland Grammar Tibbs House. Plus, my family are members of the Auckland Mustang Owners Club.

Outside of the office, my husband Brett and I enjoy spending time with our two young adult sons, traveling, walking trails, attending sporting events / motor racing and being a holder of a firearms licence - enjoying a bit of target shooting.
